Dog friendly places in Singapore

Singapore is not a dog friendly place. Many establishments here have signs indicating ‘no dogs allowed’, even cute little ones like me. Daddy says it’s because Muslims (about 15% of the population) think that dogs are “unclean”, and the people operating those places are afraid of losing potential business if dogs are allowed on their premises. Hmm.. Well, daddy spends on average $20-$50 each time we go out to a café. He says we’ll just find more places who are dog friendly, and contribute to their business instead. Hooray for daddy!

Happy Daze (Serangoon Gardens)
My regular hangout, although the staff there are sometimes quite blur, and service is poop. “We don’t serve ice water” is their favorite phrase to humans, and daddy punishes them by not leaving any tip. They do, however, provide a water bowl for me, and the doggie menu is quite adequate. My all time favorite is the Lamb meatballs. Yummy!

Earth Café (Upper Thomson Rd)
Went there the day after my 1st birthday party. All I can remember was, I had a tummy ache and pooped all over the place. The nice staff had to clean up after me several times. :-$

The Coffee Bean (Serangoon Gardens)
I’ve only been there once. No water bowl, no doggie menu. Lots of cute girls though! ;-)

Bark Café (Upper Changi Road North)
A very nice place, although they too, don’t have a doggie menu. Daddy forgot to bring my water bottle when we were there on Friday night; I had to suck on ice cubes from his drink instead. :-(  The Beef Goulash was fantastic though, and they give you a big chunk of bread to go with it. Daddy gave me most of the bread, dipped in Goulash. Woof!

Update: Apparently, you can ask for a water bowl and they’ll give one to you. :-S

Other places to sniff out (when daddy and mummy have the time):
1. Cafés at Bishan Park I and II
2. Outdoor cafés at Vivo City
3. Pasir Ris Park and East Coast Park
